From inception – in 1991 - the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has been sensitive to market demands because it felt a strong responsibility to produce graduates who are able to make a smooth transition from classroom to workplace. The Limkokwing University has no parallel in the manner it has expanded and merged with the countries where it has set up campuses. The University matches its programs with the countries’ national development plans to build the kind of manpower they need to build their economies. Through six faculties – Design Innovation, Multimedia Creativity, Communication, Media & Broadcasting, Information Technology & Computing, Business Management & Globalization and Architecture & Built Environment – the university runs an extensive range of programs. Its Executive Leadership College also offers specially tailored courses in leadership, entrepreneurship, Finance and information technology. Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (referred to as LUCT, LKW or just Limkokwing) is a private international university with a presence across three continents: Africa, Europe and Asia. With its main campus in Malaysia, the university has over 30,000 students from more than 150 countries, studying in its 11 other campuses in Botswana, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lesotho, Swaziland and the United Kingdom

The institute formed relationships with universities and colleges in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. At the same time, the institute forged links with industry to provide direction and support to enable the university to create an environment that was conducive to education. Collaborating with industry gave many opportunities for students to engage in real work experience. In 2002 the institute became the first private college to be recognized as a University College. On the campus are nearly 40 clubs representing students from countries like Pakistan, Botswana, China, Indonesia, India, Iran and Sri Lanka. Their members take part in sports, cultural, religious and lifestyle activities on and off the campus, creating a multi-faceted ambience. The great chemistry among the clubs makes Limkokwing one closely-knit family. 

The winner of the Highest Enrolment of Foreign Students Award and Special Award for Globalizing Malaysian Education from the Malaysian Ministry of Education and the Export Excellence Award from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the trail-blazing university has won honors’ in its own right. On the overseas front, it has bagged awards such as the Arch of Europe Award for Quality and Technology, Frankfurt; the International Quality Award, London; the Century International Quality Era Platinum Award, Geneva; the International Gold Star Award, Paris; and the Visionary Leadership in Innovative Education Award, New York. The university has played host to local and foreign dignitaries. Among the VIP visitors were the Duke of York, Prince Andrew; the Duchess of Gloucester; the Prime Minister of St Vincent & the Grenadines, Dr Ralph E. Gonsalves; Maldivian Education Minister, Dr Mahmood Shougee, and Hollywood celebrities like Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey.


The Limkokwing campus in Cyberjaya is at a distance of just 20 minutes drive from the main city of Kuala Lumpur and is a home to 9,500 students from nearly 145 countries. Its multicultural environment enables both local and foreign students to interact and soak up varied cultures. The campus is an outstanding landmark in the vicinity. Its spectacular façade, a multi-hued skin of sorts, features creative industries, lifestyle activities and the university’s global expansion. Representatives from these institutions form the core of the university's Quality Assurance Board and make regular visits to the university.


This International Advisory Board benchmarks programs against international criteria and specifications and moderates students' performance and achievement. International benchmarking ensures that students have the opportunity to move between and across institutions
